Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Fammove ("we", "us", "our") operates fammove.com, a service that helps families research and compare schools in England. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and early access details — your name, email address and any information you give us when requesting access or creating an account.
  • Content you create — saved schools and areas, shortlists, private notes, family preferences and reviews you submit.
  • Usage and device data — pages viewed, searches run, approximate location derived from a postcode you enter, browser type and IP address.
  • Email engagement — whether the emails we send you are delivered and opened, so we can maintain a reliable service.

3. How and why we use your data

We use your information to provide the service and your account (performance of a contract), to keep the platform secure, to improve and troubleshoot our features and to moderate reviews (legitimate interests), and to send marketing emails where you have given consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

4. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our instructions — including our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider and our analytics and AI processing providers — and with authorities where we are legally required to do so. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

5. Family Experiences you share

Family Experiences you submit are moderated and, once approved, may be publicly visible. Approved contributions are shown with the public username you choose. Your real name and email address are never shown with a contribution, and we never publish your account details. If you have not chosen a username, your contribution appears as “FAMMOVE member”. You can change your username at any time in your profile settings.

6. Retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active and for up to 12 months after you close it, unless a longer period is required by law. Early access requests are kept until you withdraw. Published Family Experiences may remain on the site, shown as “FAMMOVE member”, after an account is deleted.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your saved items and preferences, plus limited analytics to understand how the site is used. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though some features may stop working.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights; we respond within one month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Children

Fammove is intended for parents and carers aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Information you add about your children in a family profile is stored solely to personalise your own search results.

10. Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@fammove.com.
